Christianity claims that Satan is rebelling against God. But how does that make logical sense? What could Satan hope to achieve?
All Christians know that God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, and that the Bible is the word of God. So Christians know, from reading the Bible, that in the rebellion against God, Satan is doomed to fail, and that he will ultimately be sentenced to eternity in hell. He will lose so completely that all of his followers, and every non-Christian, will also be sentenced to eternity in hell. No consolation prize for the loser.
If Christians know this, then angels have to know it. Angels, after all, lived in the presence of God, were probably around during Creation, and have no reason to doubt His magnificence (unlike humans, who have every reason to question God's very existence, let alone power).
So Satan, being an angel, has to know the horrible fate that awaits him. Given that... what could he possibly hope to accomplish? For some crazy reason, he still continues this pointless rebellion, even though every effort he makes will be completely fruitless.
How does Christianity justify this senselessness? The only possibilities I can determine are:
1. Satan doesn't know that he will lose / thinks that he can win, but is wrong. Thus, Satan is stupider than every Christian. Every Christian on Earth knows Satan will lose, but Satan hasn't caught on.
2. Satan doesn't care that he will lose. Thus, Satan thinks it's better to spend eternity in hell, rather than eternity in heaven, in exchange for causing less than 10,000 years of mayhem. Thus, hell really can't be that bad of a place, if Satan's willing to spend eternity there.
3. Satan is being forced by God to rebel. Thus, the whole rebellion is a sham, and Satan is merely a puppet, unable to do anything but rebel.
4. Satan knows that he can win. Thus, the Bible is lying --- the battle of Armageddon is not yet a done deal.

Seems odd you WILL believe in Satan but not God..
Guess you never have played a sport or something against someone you know you have no chance of winning but yet you try???
Also, you know the saying "misery loves company?" Satan wants to have as much company as he possibly can.

Well, this is a more sensable argument, but, I can't give you credit because it isn't yours.
The answer is simple. You have to take in the whole sight to understand. A power corrupt angel, the highest of the high, decided that he was greater than God. Obviously, he knew he wasn't already. Being an angel, he KNEW God created him. So, why even bother? Power. Power.
Most doctorines become all different in this question. This is obviously a tactic to attack multiple beliefs in order to get different opinions so then people can say "You don't agree, so you are all wrong!"
Now, some believe that the last book of Revelation, mainly the whole battle part, already happened. For me, I don't believe. Some people like say Lucifer and Satan are not one, but two. This is where the crossrods begins.
In my own heart, this is my belief- Power motivates him, just as any other human. When you strive at something, you believe you can do it. It's like I gave you your own island, and I told you "You can have all of the world if you can outlive this for a week." You think "I can do this, and you try", yet I have it rigged so you'll die. You find this out, so do you stop? No, you keep going. Nothing will stop you. Until you get shot in the head.

to be honest i would rather go to hell than heaven and these are my reasons why:
1. if you have pre-martal sex you go to hell (a.k.a. it's evil so pre-marital sex will happen all the time in hell), and if you die not married and a virgin and a good christian you will stay that way for all eternity (a.k.a. never EVER get laid)
2. love thy neighbour means that you would have to love everyone in heaven even the git that called you names in year nine and the girlfriend/boyfriend that cheated on you.. and so on.. meanwhile in hell you could be using them as a punch bag:)
3. according to christianty sex appeal is a bad thing.. so book worms in heaven, leather clad sex gods and godesses (metophorically speaking) in hell..
4. if your gay lesbian or bi no way are you going to heaven..
5. no alchol or drugs in heaven..
6. no gambling in heaven..
no fun in heaven full stop..
hell sounds like a really good time:)

also farfarello in Heaven you would not need those things to be happy and in hell you would have those things but they would make you sad.
Even though I believe in neither its just an opinion

Your confusion is understandable, but let me make this clear for you. Satan has everything to gain. Though he knows that he can't take person away from God, but he can ruin a persons witness/testimony to bring others to God, as well as plant seeds of doubt in to those who may seek God.
Satan..like, like you..does not believe in the powers of God..therefore he dosen't believe that he is a "puppet". Just as you don't believe you will go to hell for denying God.

Ok not a bad explanation, why not cut and paste that onto tieflings blog? i am sure he would appreciate it.
As for what you say it is understandable but why would Satan even rebel in the first place he must sss that an eternity is hell is much worse then bringing him some comapny.

Who says Hell exists? where is the proof? Satan may not be evil if you read the post you would see that or if you opened your mind to at least that possibility.

Well look at it this way, I as a christian, know what i should and should not do, yet i still mess up i still sin, we all do, even if we know we shouldnt do it and we know its against God, somtimes we fail. The only perfect one is the Lord the angels are not perfect

you dont ask easy questions. Ü
ok briefly then - the typical contemporary understanding of satan is not very scriptural. it more directly reflects lore and legend and great works like dantes inferno and miltons paradise lost.
the omnis are never ascribed to God in scripture. they are Greek philosophical constructs employed by later writers.
the bible is not the word of God. Christ is the word (Greek = logos)of God. John 1 makes this very clear.
given these foundational ideas it seems that tieflings argument - tho coherent and valid - is aimed at a false understanding.

So as is yours in that case the Bible may simply be used to anyones best interests for example.
Christian)Well that was written in the old testament and was misinterputed by the people who wrote the bible
Me)what about being Gay
Christian)it is an abomination
Me)why
Christian)it says so in the bible
Me)which part
Christian)Old testament
AAARRRGGGHHH you cannot win with people who have only one source and are constantly tailoring it to fit societies moral code.In a few hundred years people will look back at Christians who disliked gays and say,
"They were not true Christians"

heh sorry did I do that? nah I just have to argue my point, you say the bible is not the word of God and that is simply a doorway for ANYONE to believe what thye want to and disgard the rest, it should either be regarded as 100% literal or not at all.
And of course you can say it is all metaphorical, but if you say that you should not be against gays.

no. i didnt say it was a doorway for anyone to to believe what they want and discrad the rest. please read my statement again. Christ is the word of God. John 1 makes this claim. Christ is the logos. the logos is not a book - he is a living active person. thats the whole point.
and taking any book as 100% literal ignores literary modes such as poetry parables and apocalyptic writing which arent by any means literal. this is not a cheap argument to avoid the issue - this is simple literature 101.
btw - why do you keep bringing up gays? i have made no comment concerning them.
